we have a lot of women in my school quite a few of them train very hard, spar regularly (all ranges standup/clinch/ground) and are very tough. and no they don't look like men.

I've been to a lot of schools with women, and mostly a mix of women.

But you tend to find that in the schools where they really train harder, be that with contact, or more realistic martial arts, for some reason the women don't seem to like that.

In fact, one of my sifus noticed this phenomena, so he had a simple test for all women entrants.

In their very first class, he'd show all of them a very useful technique, which can be used especially effectively if a rapist is messing with your pants or panties.

Stick two fingers in the eye socket. Pull out the eyeball. Then bite the eye off of the connecting veins, so the guy can't put the eye back in.

He found that if women stuck around after that class, they'd usually stick around for a while. The women who left were the women who wouldn't stick around.

In fact, since there were a few women friends of ours studying with him, they talked another good friend of ours into attending his class. She left after the first class, and thought he was a total sicko.

We asked her about it afterwards, and she seemed to think that getting raped was preferable to putting a guy's eye out.

You should have seen her, she was really hot. I´ve never expected to find hot chicks in kickboxing classes at a gym such as the one I attend. I don´t know how I could say it in english but... do you know what are "neighbourhod gyms"? They are these kinda gyms, usually placed in cheap parts of the city were thugs with bad haircuts and tattos go to become badasses.
Well, that´s how my gym looks like. After months of being surrounded by bad mannered sweating and ugly boys, that girl was like a smoth breeze in a hot summer night.

Here in Seattle between having a large lesbian population and general strong take on feminist, we have a very large women martial arts body who are very vocal. It also helps that we have two of the few women certified by Ajarn Chai to teach MT, a woman who is really high up there in Doce Pares Eskrima and a woman who is really high up in Serrada. I don't know if there is any place in the world with more women martial arts instructors.
