    Junior Fighters.com

Saturday, October 23rd will be the debut of Junior Fighters in the Rexplex , New Jersey, made possible by world kickboxing champion Louis Neglia.

This tournament will feature top kickboxers from from schools and gyms across the country in ages 17 and under.

Theres going to be exhibition fights for kids under 12 and real bouts for all the rest.

The website is still under construction www.juniorfighters.com

I used to train 2 of the kids fighting(Michael Gianetto and Nicholas "Wild Man" Perez) and this should be a pretty wild event.

You can see the entire card here:

Theres not enough events like this for kids. With all the cheesy point contact rules untrained people get it into thier heads that kids cant compete in MMA or kickboxing when thats just not true.

So you can see teenagers fighting full contact kickboxing like in some third world countries?

    If so, i don't think it's a good idea.

Your comment comes from a point of ignorance. If thats your opinion than you dont have much experience with that type of training or sparring.

I've seen literally THOUSANDS(again, literally) of children compete under these types of rules.

Wrestling in junior high school is more dangerous.

My brother did a match under MT rules at 16 and at 15 and 16 did amatuer full contact MMA in the men's division at a tourney in Vancouver...I see no problem with teens competing full contact.

Especially if they have the proper officals making sure the match is conducted properly.

With MMA rules you have many matches that end with no real impact injuries.

I'm not going to send you my MA resume, but dont' assume the people are ignorant about the things they dislike.

You can be surprised (i tkoed my first opponent at 15), TKD in Europe in the 70's is not the TKD in usa in the 90's.

Ask the euro origins people over age 30 in this site (both know about i'm talking)

I really dont know your resume but it has nothing to do with you thinking that a kickboxing event will turn into kids fighting just like in third world environments.

Have you ever reffed kids in this scenario or MMA?

So your problem is with bad instructors, not full contact competition.

    Thats different though man.

You're talking about an "open" tournament that obivously wasn't managed well and let kids get hurt.

If been to teenage MMA competitions similar to Shooto where no head contact is allowed and the events turn out great with no real injuries and alot of experience gained.

Young kids are put into boxing all the time. It just has to be done in a professional way and with the correct supervision.

Plus you cant let ANY kid into it.

One of the kids from TSK is only 15 and hes been wrestling for almost 5 years and has fought MMA, Judo and Boxing multiple times. A kid like that knows his stuff and can do well in that tyoe of event.
