Would you consider this mvoe good for restraining?
And if you do how would you set it up assuming the guy isn't turned around and your a bouncer wanting to either restrain him or throw him out of the bar.

it's a full nelson. works very good at restraining a guy, you can even cause some pain if the guy isnt very fit, or you're relativley fit. I have absolutely no idea how you woudl get it from the front. the only times i've ever got it was during playful grappling, once you get a guys back.

Schooled by t3h osiris. I like the funny face that the guy applying the move is giving the camera. It's like a WHADDAHELLIDONOW kinda look.

Osiris, do you really think quarter or half nelson is very good for restraint? Maybe I've never gone up against a very good wrestler, but they always seemed fairly easy to deal with in my experience (I acknoweldge I never wrestled past 9th grade, they might be deadly in the hands of someone really good)

So, you are saying half nelson on the ground only?
If I get half nelson I spin to guillotine.
And that's when I figured out that tears couldn't make somebody who was dead alive again. There's another thing to learn about tears, they can't make somebody who doesn't love you any more love you again. It's the same with prayers. I wonder how much of their lives people waste crying and praying to God. If you ask me, the devil makes more sense than God does. I can at least see why people would want him around. It's good to have somebody to blame for the bad stuff they do. Maybe God's there because people get scared of all the bad stuff they do. They figure that God and the Devil are always playing this game of tug-of-war game with them. And they never know which side they're gonna wind up on. I guess that tug-of-war idea explains how sometimes, even when people try to do something good, it still turns out bad.

Would it be easier to roll into an armbar?

For a street fight or restraing from a bouncer?
That is fucking stupid.

so how would you restraint a guy standing up if you were a bouncer?

I'd put him in a hammerlock and put my other arm around his neck from behind, once I'd secured the hammerlock, then put my headlocking hand on my face so he couldn't headbutt me, and I could choke him...it's like a one handed rear naked. The problem is, he does have a hand/arm free, but I can break his arm and/or choke him out...so even if he hits me in the nuts or something, he'll still go out.
I think that's the best way to restrain someone while standing...you can immediately inflict pain and choke the guy out. However, if you don't know what you're actually doing when it comes to grappling, learn first...don't expect that you'll be able to apply anything if you don't train for it.

I didn't mean standing... Yes that would be ridiculous.
