Dominique Vandenberg - Verification

Has anyone ever heard of this guy Dominique Vandenberg, this girl at work gave me this book: The Iron Circle: The True Life story of Dominique Vandenberg.

While checking out the Book jacket he said he was the youngest person to win the World Open in Bareknuckle Karate, I only know of one Karate World Open :

As you can see his name isn't on there. Are there any other World Open Karate Tournaments that I'm missing? He makes some pretty serious claims as far as being a French Foreign Legion paratrooper, (I believe that can be verified), an assassin, and fighting in "bloodsport" matches in the sewers of Thailand and training secret gyms in Japan etc.

So does any body have any info on this guy, one of the Amzon reviews says that some of his stories are contradictory and impossble.
