McDojo Sites????

What do you you consider Mcdojo sites. A major problem for many people and I know from personal experience, is that there are just not classes for the martial art you want to do in your area. So many sites are popping up that cater for this need. But is this good or is it merly a McDOjo syndrome.

For example www.learncapoeira.com , that teaches you capoeira from home or www.ninjutsu.com/stor.shtml where you can buy a video set that teaches you everything about ninjutsu in just 10 videos and then you can get "certified" as black belt.

Hey, if you feel it's a McDojo site, post it in the Features-&gt;McLinks section. People will rate it 1-10 (least to most McDojo) and post their comments.

Heh, like actually defending yourself with their TKD?

Also from their site:

"Why Take Martial Arts?

Of course, you notice, they mention NOTHING about fighting or self defense.

By the way guys, you can submit links to the McLinks section (under Features) so we can get a good library of McDojos going.

2. Those sites say they do kungfu but don't do real kungfu what section do they go in?

A TKD school run by a 3rd dan that learned from a 4th dan, neither of which can tell Korean from Japanese as languages. You know, I live near these people, but it seems semi-harmless since they're mainly teaching kids, so I'll withhold any further judgment.

1. Put in your email as the person submitting the link.

2. Put them in whatever section they should really go. For example, if it's a TKD school that claims it's Kung Fu, it would go in Korean arts.

I approved a link yesterday, thanks to whomever submitted it. The more links we get, the better we can help serve the Martial Arts community.

Remember to rate all the links and comment on them. That way we allow the MA community to decide for itself what schools are McDojos, and what are legit.
