In Pancrase, Bas had to use palm strikes a lot...there was no punching in Pancrase then. So he probably knows a little about palm strikes.

Do you have trouble understanding the concept of overstatement? If someone says "My Dad is gonna kill me" he USUALLY DOES NOT MEAN IT LITERALLY. Same thing goes in this situation...have a brain.

than why do you guys make fun of traditional martial artists that make that claim on their website when its obviously a trick to draw more students just like Ruten's trick is to sell more videos.

Bas is the man.

He is a pancrase champ and UFC champ. That in itself lends more credibility than some anonymous message board poster boasting of his unverified streetfighting while trying to heckle Bas.

Bas has also been in his share of scraps. There is a VERIFIED story of him beating the **** out of handfull of bouncers at a club when they decided to ambush him. Yeah, he fucked em up. After one of them tried to poke his eye out or someshit. So based on that story alone Im sure he has some valuable tips on streetfighting. Add in that he has trained numerous MMA champions it appears he might be able to convey his knowledge. Bas's Big Book of Combat was a smashing hit that amateurs and professionals alike found very valuable.

Based on all of this information I feel it is my duty to tell the original poster to STFU and find someone else to hate on. Bas is > you!

oh noes, his palm strikes werent instant kill blows against those other well trained athletes. he still fucked their **** up with them though. and no one gives a **** about your fight record. when you turn pro, have verified str33t fighting experience, and are as much of a hardass as Bas, then you can give advice. until then, shut the **** up.
