You are correct. Pretty much any reduced-calorie situation is going to bring about an initial loss of water weight. The variance is in the amount shed. A couple of pounds of water weight is not as notable as 5-10 over the same time span. It's useless for improving fitness, but it is great for marketing.

Unfortunately, no. The wife just had a baby, and up until his delivery had complications, which resulted in me using up all my alloted vacation/comp time. I have to build some up first, before I can take time off to see one.

Many work out of their homes, so you could go see them at almost any time. You could also get advice on nutrition for infants.

Now THAT I didn't know .. the couple I called all had M-F 9-5 appointment times, so I assumed it was that way for all of them, like a clinical situation.

80% protien? Do the words "ketosis" and "kidney failure" mean anything to you? Nevermind that you want to take away my sweet, delicious orange juice.

80% of my diet is protein. There is no danger of eating too much protein (unless you're eating a whole cow that is). Actually, the ultimate way to eat for optimum health is....

Don't eat sugar - AT ALL!
Don't eat white flour - especially white bread, bagels, etc.
Don't eat pasta, and sugary sauces.
    Don't drink juice - It's pure sugar!
Limit consumption of fruits and eat mainly strawberries and blueberries (highest nutrients and the lowest glycemic index). These particular fruits will not produce the "insulin shot" in your body if eaten in moderation.

Basically, just eat meats, eggs, vegetables, salads, cheese, and nuts. As well as low-carb protein shakes and bars for quick on the run snacks.

One should not eat more than 30/40 grams of carbohydrate a day if you need to loose weight.

    These are my recomendations. FWIW.

    Thomas's suggestions:
    Eat relatively healthy food
Limit yourself as to how much crap you eat
Try not to eat greasy, fat filled fast food
    Exercise 30 minutes a day
Drink lots of water, and stop drinking pop/other liquids, milk and water is good enough for you, fatty
Other then that, enjoy your food, its one of lifes great pleasures.

    Screw you and your:
"Drink water, live off beans, and rice for the rest of your life for OPTIMAL health" :P

Then again Im young, and my metabolism is still pretty high, so lucky me, you poor bastards
