Jen, you're in the medical field aren't you? What's your take on all the traditional chinese medicine stuff?

Jen most of the bruises I get are from bites. Since your psot was toothless I got nothing to worry about from you.

I'm pretty sure that Ben-Gay or Icy-Hot will do the same thing if not better than any sort of traditional remedy.

i got this stuff in thailand called "st lukes oil" that is like ben-gay or icy-hot x100. the first day i was there i bruised my shins up really badly on their rock hard heavy bags, put a bunch of st. lukes oil on and my shins were fine in 2 days.

you can get it from thaiboxinggear.com, along with several other linaments that are better than the american versions.

also some traditional dit da jow formulas are quite effective at healing bruises quickly (but it can be hard to find a reputable formula, try asking at a traditional CMA school where they do hard sparring.)

my sifu and i are going to experiment with putting our dit da jow herbs in the menthol/camphor base used to make st. lukes oil, instead of the gin or vodka base usually used. of course it has to sit in a jar for at least a year, so i won't have any results for a while.

Just mix it with a little DMSO and see what happens.
