Apart from the rest, ice, compress and elevate?

I guess those heat patches might work after the blood has clotted.

What's the consensus on those Chinese medicine stuff? Unless it has something that is meant to stimulate blood circulation, I tend to write it off as crap so far.

I think it could be that I come from an Asian family and think the culture has a lot of crap in it. :(

Lots of firm rubbing before the bruises come up, thats the only reason my forearms are able to remain their natural colour.

I still don't understand that, you said that when you were in Adelaide to throw down a bit, but doesn't that get more blood in the wrong place?

Seems pretty logical that it'd get the blood flowing better to me...

Um yeah, but as I said, more blood flowing into the wrong place, also known as bruising?

I've never tried it, but someone at my dojo said that walking in a swimming pool is good for healing those thigh and shin bruises from low kicks.

Bruise medicine really works, if you can get the good stuff, which is hard to find.

So, you need to condition yourself, so you don't bruise so easily, like grape.

when I get bruises I use wood lock oil or some liniments similar to tiger balm. these usually burn out what ails me....

You might try something called "Arnica". Usually available anywhere that sells homeopathic medicines. It's a topical creme that seems to work well for healing bruises.
