Protien does not turn into fat directly.
As the body can only absorb so much at a time (values vary per person) the excess is turned into sugars which are stored as fat.

    Looking for links right now....

I thought excess protein was filtered out by the kidneys not converted to sugar. Sugar is energy, protein is more of a building block material. This is why you are supposed to increase your water intake when you up the protein in your diet. I seem to remember reading that somewhere a few years ago, but it might be completely wrong.

humans are not supposed to be drinking milk from cows (i'm not a vegitarian BTW and I do drink milk and protein supps.). everyone in lactose intolerant to some extent. If you drink too much milk you'll either fart or **** all over the place........ as for equating farting to protein in general i don't know because I could eat 13 steaks and not have any gass at all but if I drink a protein shake I honestly fart every minute for about 3 hours strait.

I think the farting is uncontrolled 'Chi Materialization' due to excess protein intake - and we should all go practice so that we can harness this little used art.

Haha, often times my brother and I spar each other, and when one of us rips one while we boxing, we sort of just agree to move away from that spot.

When I first started using protein supplements, I got the gas REAL bad. The first night after I started taking them, I had a dream that I was in bed and there were a bunch of rotting corpses all around me. I woke up and realized that I had farted in bed, and the smell was so horrendous that my sub-conscious had interpretted the smell as rotting flesh and worked it into my dream. Now my body seems to have gotten used to working with the extra protein, but still, sometimes the farts are really terrible.
