Is Pride fixed?!

I would've given it to Minowas (since draws are not aloud) simply because Ryan was completely dead at the end and was hanging on for dear life. I wish it was a three round fight, Minowas almost certainly would've won. I understand the decision though.

I think Pride has had a few works, but none recently. UFC may very well have too. I'd bet nearly anything that all of the fights last weekend were authentic.

I sympothise with Minowa, and wanted him to win. If it was up to me to make up judginc criteria, I would give a LOT of weight to who was in better shape at the end of the fight. However, noone asked me to make the rules for them. Their loss :)

If I hear one more jackass saying the Fedor/Kevin was suspect, I'm going to chew my veins.

If you need a clue, look at Darkson's sig. Kevin flipped out and dumped Fedor on his head in a wierd back-twisting suplex that defies reason. Fedor lands on head and shoulders, and KEVIN LANDS FULL-FORCE ON HIS OWN FOREHEAD. And fucking hard, too. You see his grip loosen upon impact, whle Fedor scrambles around unfazed. That sick slam hurt Kevin way more than Fedor.

Imagine yourself being a Pride fighter. You train 8-10 years of your life to reach this goal and you're undefeated 20-0.

You're offered 50,000 to fight, bonus to win = $0, bonus to loose = $100,000

As for DSE Pride they increase their PPV buys and bring in new fans to the sport. Your contract is also renewed for another 3x fights with higher pay and you get some endorsements.

Would you take the loss?

damn, you know that depends on the circumstances as well. first off whether or not you believe you could actually beat your opponent. Second what kind of financial position I were in, and third whether or not I could make even more money remaining undefeated, maybe even with a differant organization. But since nobody pays as much as PRIDE I guess that last one is kind of moot... hmmm, it would definately depend on the answers to the first two questions.

Remember, fighters at this level LIVE off of fighting, they feed their kids with it, pay their bills, and buy porn all with money from hurting someone else.

If you guys don't know that DSE will fix fights then you don't know your MMA. I will say that 98% of the fights in pride are real but I'll be damned if they haven't fixed a few.

Te No Kage: There are plenty of people in the MMA venue who are big and strong but their technique just sucks ass. I'll give you a big one right here: Tank Abbot. That mofo is huge and crazy strong. We've seen him nearly fold people in half backwards with his punching power. He has stupid powerful punches, and I would presume that he was kept around UFC for his power, and because he's a good fighter to hate, and even though you like to see him damage someone. He was good for the event. Another guy: Paul Varelans....he was in UFC and let's face it, the guy had NO TECHNIQUE WHATSOEVER... look at what Marco Ruas did to him. Just because we don't think they have any business in the MMA venue doesn't mean that there isn't some promoter that will put him in the ring just to make a few bucks off him.

Actually I don't really feel strongly one way or another. I mainly started this thread to shake coconuts from the tree because threads were getting stagnant at the time. Yes, I am a sick and twisted individual. And I have probably warped every person who has read this thread. But I think it's always good to question what we see. Isn't that the purpose of bullshido?

Furthermore, I think it's well within the realm of possibility that DSE fixes some Pride fights, but I probably wouldn't be able to tell by watching. But I will always be casting a scrutinizing eye every time I watch it or UFC or professional boxing.
