    Pride kicks ass!

As for being fixed - in Final Conflict - I think 17 knees to Rampage's big knot head was a definate fix. So was Nog's armbar of Crocop. Nog just loves getting that foot to the head.

It ain't Vale Tudo - but it will do.

This is utterly ridiculous. Giant Silva looked exactly how you'd expect a big dude with little coordination and little training to look. Hunt looked even BETTER than one would expect him to look. If he was fixing the fight, he wouldn't have launched that huge fucking knee to Yoshida's head. The fact that you're confusing the Sak fight with the Yoshida fight makes you lose all credibility. And even beginning to question the Randleman vs Fedor fight is absurd. You do not know what you're talking about. Randleman went berserk and almost fucking killed Fedor. Randleman has prowrestled before, he would know not to slam someone like that if he was supposed to lose.

****. I was thinking while watching it last night "Damn, no matches looked the least bit fishy, I wonder if people are gonna complain on the internet." I guess so.

I think what you don't realize Te No Kage, is that no matter how much stamina you may have for watching this ****...fighters can't suck up that and use it in the fight. They get tired, and you'd be wiped out after slamming Fedor and still he won't give up. It puts a mental strain on you and then the guy is coming back with those big russian arms and pummelling you in the face. Sooner or later your going to break. Yes, he may have given up the arm easily...but it may have been because he was tired.

KO's do not equate for realism. Some of those guys get knocked out all the time and it can still be rigged. look at: Shamrock vs. Bart Vale.

Did anyone else notice that the second man introduced (ie fancier introduction) to the ring was always the one to win the match. Both hometown favorites won their matches (Sakuraba and Ogawa). Mark Hunt did very well for his first MMA match and performed some very good escapes, didn't even get a whole lot of hits on Sakuraba, but then got caught in an armbar (could have been fixed). Giant Silva did pretty well but didn't play to his strengths and didn't even look to be trying when Ogawa bested him. Silva is a huge, strong guy; Ogawa shouldn't have beat him so easily. Randleman should have killed Fedor with that slam, the fact that he was tapped right after that was utterly ridiculous. Did he give that arm on purpose? We're all of these matches fixed? I don't know anymore, with more and more production put into Pride makes me wonder how much of it is becoming entertainment and less sport.
First, Mark Hunt didn't fight Sakuraba. He fought Yoshida. Yoshida is a Judo Olympic Gold Medalist, he also beat Don Frye. Seems pretty tough to me. He beat a no name (in terms of MMA) kickboxer wow big deal. Seems more than likely that the Kickboxer didn't have the experience necessary to save his arm.

Second, I don't see any reason why Pride has a greater chance to be "fixed" than UFC. Have you seen the scum who run boxing in Vegas? Same guys run UFC. So please no bullshit about rigging fights.

Do you practice martial arts? Are you watching the same fights I am? Have you read the histories of the Gracies, Kano, Ueshiba etc. Big and strong is good but technnique always comes first.

Silva might be big and strong but his technique sucks ass. Thats why he lost. Its happend before.

Ghost, you're right about stamina, it hits home pretty hard since I have none, that could be a good reason why he let himself open to that sub, I'll give you that

Unicron, Relax Francis! I realize I screwed up the names of Yoshida/Sakuraba. I don't want to diminish Yoshida's ability because he is awesome, but I was really surprised by Mark Hunt's effort. I really didn't expect him to do so well. And I think UFC has a bigger chance to be fixed than Pride because of Las Vegas too, there's just too much money at stake there. Yes, I practice martial arts and what does that have to do with this? And I practice aikido so please don't preach to me about technique > size and strength. There's a lot of gray area here, if Silva sucks that bad why would he even be in there? Do you think that he doesn't train for these events? Does he not learn submissions and escapes?

I am relaxed it's that Portugeuse footballer you have in your avatar thats annoying me :)

Honestly though I think Silva is there mostly because he's a freakshow. Is he the same dude as "The Giant Gonzalez" from WWF way back?

I don't know, they say he was on the Brazilian Olympic basketball team. I would just like to think that since he's in "the big show" that he'd be getting better training since he obviously has the physical skills to execute, ie stamina, size and strength. Technique is something that can be worked on, maybe he's just not that smart, I don't know.

Of course he learns escapes and whatnot. But that doesn't mean ****. These guys have been grappling since they were fucking babies, he's been grappling for a year or so tops.
