I'd be quite interested to hear of your experiences with Houston WC. By the way, where are you going to be doing your BJJ?
I'm probably going to join Alvis Solis's place:

I've heard a lot of good things about this gym. I've been told it's probably one of the top two in Houston. I heard it was near downtown, but looking at the map reveals it's a bit out of the ways.

So, if anyone knows any other good BJJ places in town, I'd like to hear about it :)

Alvis's gym is great. Although, for strictly BJJ purposes, if Travis Tooke is back in town, I'd recommend looking him up instead. (He's no longer affiliated with Alvis' gym.)

Oh man, and how could I forget?! There's also the Rice University Judo/BJJ club, taught once or twice a week by Anderson Leal, BB in judo, BB in BJJ, and gold medalist at last year's Mundial's.

Let me know if you visit any of these places - you can tell them I sent you.

I've heard of the Rice Judo club. I was told they were actually classes, though, and were only available certain times during the year. Hey, if it's a year-round thing, let me know and I'll check it out. I'd kill to get some judo under my belt....

Oh, that's right, I forgot about summer. No practices until fall. Still, Anderson's a great teacher once they start up again.

That's where I trained. Some great guys there, but the injury rate is somewhat high...
