Matt Thornton doesn't play the lineage game. It's what the person can do/teach that matters. NOT who showed him, how many certificates he has, etc.

Yes, Vunak and Thornton disagree on some issues, but both are outstanding representatives of the JKD community

Some of it is. But JKD goes alot further than WC. They basically added more trapping techniques and ways to aply trapping. The JKD guys made it a fine art.

I have to agree as well. I would say many of the various off shoots of JKD have various valid aspects of fighting to teach.

I'm just wondering but does Burt Richardson have a connection with Matt Thornton? I aint trying to stir up any lineage **** but curious about if they were training partners or friends or something?

SBG does not teach trapping in the WC sense. SBG teaches the clinch taken from wrestling. My understanding is that this is these two are very different.

A person's lineage has no direct connection to the person's ability to coach or to what the person's ability are. Is it worth training with the person? Try it and find out.

sbg is a mma school not a jkd school well maybe jkd at concept but so is all mma really.

Vunak was hired years ago to give training to the U.S Coast Guard Law Enforcement Teams. I was in one of the classes in Alameda Ca. His system was geared more toward law enforcement for us, but it was all good stuff real no nonsense. His staff was professional and well trained. Do not pass up this chance. Just go in with an open mind.
