New 4th NW Throwdown
No offense to our Canuck friends, but it seems the Vancouver Throwdown has died in its tracks...
I propose a Throwdown anyway.
We have held the last three down here in Lakewood. I think it is fairly centrally located (for our Portland and Northern Washington friends), but admittedly it is a bit of a hump for our esteemed Canadian colleagues.
I would like to get another throwdown going on as soon as possible. I have met some other folks online, and would like to introduce them to this concept of "no borders, just training" mentality.
I suggest any Saturday or Sunday on the following weekends:
3-4 July (might be an issue for some American folks celebrating Independence Day)
We can (tentatively) schedule the event for the Lakewood location, until or unless someone who cares to can schedule another location to better suit some of our more northerly located friends.
We've had the following folks (and if I miss your name, chime in) attend in the past:
I'd love to see the following folks attend if possible:
I know of some Hapkido folks from Federal Way, WA, some Hwarangdo folks from Vancouver, WA, some Isshin-ryu folks from Redmond, WA, some other folks from Lacey, WA, Olympia, WA, and some from Tacoma, WA that may be interested as well... If they all take the bait, we could end up with quite a show on our hands...
So, first order of business - what date?
Second - who can show up?
Third - what do we do once we get there?
This will be the 4th one for this area... More, I think, than any other part of the country (either one) has had. So far, even with the 17 page "discussion" resulting from the 3rd Throwdown, they have been very productive. I know I've walked away with new insight and information from each and every one (I even started training in Judo with Brad from the 2nd Throwdown as a result!).
Let's get it on!!!

Bumping this back up to the top...
C'mon folks... Who's interested in getting together?
I've been making a list, and I think we could definitely get quite a large group this time around. We can cut the time in half, equal time striking and ground work (but as Brad is out of town, I'm hurting for a ground person to guide us in training).
Who's up for it?

Can't guarantee it, though... I don't have a digital camera, and with that good ol' Army pay, I doubt I'll be getting one any time soon...
