    I'm a bit leery of any Japanese style that uses the spelling "jiu jitsu" since that's entirely incorrect.

    However, judging from Phrost's words it sounds like it's worth a try.

    I will look into if I can ever get any info. I hope they train in more than standing locks and do some ground work.

    My JJJ school spells it that way and have for 60+ years. That was the original spelling of the Kanji in English. Like the Gracies, they just kept it. Most JJJ schools suck, but there are diamonds in the rough every now and then.

    This school in question is obviously a Gendai ryu (Modern school, post 1868) not that this is a bad thing, but most western JJ schools fall in this category.

    Since I am not familiar with JJJ is there anything I should look for or ask about? Besides the obvious.
