I can confirm about homosexuality mentioned occasionally in Hagakure. I read about a samurai, one gay male prostitute and a boatman on a boat. The samurai killed some guy offshore I think, then threw the body overboard and killed the boatman afterward. He spared the life of the homosexual prostitute for some reason, and I don't know why he was on the boat in the first place. Hell I don't even know why he killed the boatman, oh well. Besides the Hagakure, I have read about homosexuality and samurai online once in a while. It's a lot like the ancient Greek and Roman attitude toward homosexuality. Where women were inferior and love between an adult man and a young man was... uh... special?
