    sounds to me like someone who did TKD, cross-trained, but doesn't want to let go of the "TKD" name.

    So boffo is saying that there are kicks in TKD that are similar in effect to those in MT? I thought so. I find nothing wrong with someone adding to their art and maintaining the name. My masters TKD is also made up of Judo and Kyokushinkai(advanced rank in both) but it's still old style TKD.

    I can't remember his name..but I thought the ponytailed guy you were referring to was a Jkd stylist,not a Tkd stylist.....which may explain the 'unorthodox' kicks and the ability to grapple....
