    Opinions on Taekwondo?

Hey guys. So I have about 5 years of Taekwondo experience. What do you guys think about it? I hear people say it has weak hand techniques which to this day I disagree with. Do you guys think Taekwondo works in fights against martial artist? My brother and I, both Taekwondo fighters, had to fight 2 guys and school and they both ran away in seconds so I know it works against street fighters.

Pussies. For spitting out such lie-infested ****, assholes.

What you both need is penis.

As HM has decreed, All You Need Is PENIS. (I believe it was a jap novel turned into hollywood movie)

Any amount of fighting ability that is trained should in theory be better than untrained fighting. You're talking about an altercation at school, so not surprising - most kids don't train martial arts. This leads to confirmation bias.

When you pressure-test TKD against other styles is when it starts to fall apart. TKD has big gaps, and is frequently watered down to make it a viable strip-mall after school daycare type activity.

Fighting kids in the school yard I'm afraid doesn't count as street fighting. Have you trained any other martial arts other than Taekwondo?? You might find it useful to train in other martial arts to make you a more rounded fighter, Aikido or Ninjutsu would be a good start

Congrats! I hope you are having fun and being active.
What do you guys think about it?
It is a fun hobby. Much like wake boarding, parkour, skateboarding, soccer, or gymnastics.
I hear people say it has weak hand techniques which to this day I disagree with.
That is because you are ignorant. You obviously don't know anything about boxing, kickboxing, or Muay Thai; or you would not have that mislead opinion about something that is a fact. TKD has terrible punching technique from the toes up. If for some reason you have excellent punching technique in your Dojang, you are not doing TKD.
Do you guys think Taekwondo works in fights against martial artist?
Sure, why not? Untrained people win fights all the time, I don't see why TKD'ers couldn't as well.
My brother and I, both Taekwondo fighters,
No you are not. You are a TKD player, just like BJJ and Judo guys and gals are players. You aren't a fighter unless you actually fight. I don't know of a single TKD Dojang in which the players are actually training to fight.
had to fight 2 guys and school and they both ran away in seconds so I know it works against street fighters.
No, you know it worked one time against other children who weren't committed to making you eat the curb.

I don't mean to sound bitter, cold, or cruel, but I am, so that's how it comes out.

Also if you're interested in fighting schoolkids I recommend Muay Thai, this one time I ran up to an 11 year old, roundhouse kicked him across the street and stole his lunch money. Kid never saw it coming

This is half bad advice. Keep training, just in something worth your time.

Electronically, of course.

Any advice you get on this board.....well, you might as well go talk to one of the monkeys in the zoo.

    See ya next year.
