TaeBo_Master,

I think you've been pretty objective so far. I can totally see Hedge's side of things, but I can also see how if I trained at SD I'd probably see it more how they do. In my mind I've been using your posts as the "balanced" point of view.

So I ask you this, up to and including when they stopped the second fight was there any realistic way Hedge could have turned things around and won?

If Hedge could have somehow gotten the guy to the ground, it's possible. But seeing as the guy escaped once before, and Hedge was pretty beat up and tired by that point... I'd say it was unlikely at best. But again... if he got lucky and scored a really solid takedown that put him immediately into good position, there would have been a chance.

No, really.

I think of it this way: Even working guard, royce was obviously in trouble vs severn. Should they have stopped the fight?

Obviously i'm not royce, but neither was this guy severn.

Or maybe royce vs k shamrock #2 would be a better analogy.

TM, I did announce my willingness to spar at least twice.

I also requested a friendlier match.

When I had no takers, I did not sense cowardice

I sensed a desire to go home "unsoiled" by funky vibrations

It really was a weird scene

I have issued a lot of challenges in my time

But unless I have an axe to grind because of past incindents with the party, I go out of my way to position the engagement as fun and educational

The next time HH issues a challenge, I hope he can go further in the direction of friendlyness

Then beat ass and shake hands afterwards.

I am always game to come along to keep it honest

But in the case of a "grudge match" I kind of need to actually have a grudge

That's how it was with my one and only experience with HH, and his instructor.
