Which training is right?
Is there any possible way to train for gaining muscle, while also burning fat? I always hear people talk about exercising as two different things. Either lifting weights to build muscle, or doing lots of cardio to burn fat. Can they both be done at the same time or will they sort of mess each other up and not allow either to really take effect? My problem is I'm too skinny so I wanna build muscle, which means I have to eat a lot, but lately with my MA training, I've been toning up and burning a lot of fat, which means I have to keep a steady diet. What can I do?

Lifting weights helps build the most muscle. Er.......stimulates the hypertrophic elements more.

While.......cardio is suggested to kill calories because IT IS EASIER TO MAINTAIN CARDIOVASCULAR TRAINING LONGER THAN IT IS POSSIBLE TO KEEP TRAINING ANAEROBICLY.
So, while weight lifting burns more calories/hour, you cannot sustain that effort as long as you can sustain cardiovascular training.

You will automaticall self destruct and you die. Though some other people on www.wannabebig.com which I post at, have recommended to do cardio training AFTER weight training.

What you do there is figure out your maintainence cals, eat maybe 200 cals about that and continue to train. You'll grow, slowly, but keeping BF down.
TRUST ME! I gained 37.5lbs in 2003 while keeping a lower BF % and keeping my six.
My goal is to get to about 160 lbs. but without having to look fat during the whole time I try to reach that point. I mean I'd have no trouble eating like a pig and gaining a lot of weight and turning it into muscle, but I'm 145 right now and I wanna stay toned while I gain that extra 15 pounds of muscle.

I like to keep some simple healthy snacks in my hand bug for times when I get hungry. Or depressed. As well as my cell phone so I can call up my friends ANYTIME!
Expect your BF% to inscrease a bit but don't worry about it too much. You can worry about it when you get closer to 160.

You can work it around your MA training, but make sure you take in lots of protien, carbs and happy fun calories. You body will feel a LOT of strain from doing both MA and weighttraining if you don't have enough REST!!!

dude, you cant turn fat into muscle. for your own sake I hope youre about 15 years old.
Anyway to answer your question. Eat a **** load of clean food. A bulking cycle doesnt mean eating McDonalds 5 times a day.
It means lots of chicken breasts, eggs, protein shakes, vegetables, potatoes, oatmeal, fruit, juice, water, milk, cottage cheese, etc.
