i'm (hopefully) just gettting off one of those plateaus ...
my advice is to grapple with people who are about the same weight and a bit less skill then you ... you can then pratice getting the submissions on ... concentrate on technique
then right after ... grapple someone who is at least equal or better than you ... keep concentrating on technique ...
its a bit hard to learn to get the submissions when wrestling someone who is better or outweighs you substantially ...totoro-san ... world sushi munching champion ...

I already do I almost always practice with my eyes closed, I'm not sure why. I think I just did it one time because I had heard it can improve your game, now I do it all the time.Originally posted by ronin69
Try blindfolded/eyes closed drilling.
The sensitivity training takes grappling, for some, to a whole other level.
nasty_totoro- Unfortunately the group of people that I roll with regularly doesn't include many of those types of people. theres really only 4-5 guys I roll with real regularly. 3 of which are better than me and 2/3 are significantly bigger and better. I wish Skummer and the other ATL people had ever gotten that sparring group going. -

That's just it it's not ONE particular lock. It's most of them my positioning has improved but my subs didn't really come along with it. I feel like Kerr or Coleman. Dominating positioning with no submission setups.Originally posted by ronin69
If there is a particular move/lock/choke you want to work on, just drill that one over and over and over...
I guess more practice on entering the subs is what I really need. But I'm not sure how to practice that specific part of the game.
