ST. PAUL, Minn - A judge has rejected a request from the widow of "American Sniper" author Chris Kyle to order a new trial or toss a jury's verdict in favor of former Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura.
Attorneys for his widow, Taya Kyle, say laws and trial evidence didn't support the jury's award. But the federal judge who presided over the trial ruled Wednesday that "substantial evidence" supported the verdict.

this bothers me to no end
As an american it's distasteful two see at one point that two men must have hated each other enough to either bash or lie about one another. Now one of them is dead and he continues to get bashed. "he's not a hero" "he was a killer" etc etc etc.
Do I agree that Jesse Ventura had the right to sue him for libel sure...but that should have been the end of it.
In my opinion the guy served at personal risk for himself and that in and off itself is note worthy.
I know many people who are in the military will say I am not a hero because I didn't serve in a forward area, I was never deployed, my mos *military occupational skill* was not a combat based one, but to me that's irrelevent. It's about the "possibility" that you are putting yourself in harms way to protect my freedoms regardless.
That said the man deserves respect, especially now that he has fallen, fallen to a person who clearly needed help...in this "drama" we've lost several heroes and it's unfortunate.
