New penalty for jay walking = GNP

Family of woman beaten by cop to sue
    http://www.cnn.com/2014/07/07/us/cal...ing/index.html

So my take on this is the cop pummeled her for her own good. Now the events that led to the beating are as of now unknown, but I just can't think of a situation where beating the **** out of an unarmed 51 year old woman by a trained police officer would be acceptable. Maybe one of our resident members of law enforcement can enlighten me on this.

Looks like he was visibly angry and maybe watched too much UFC and was waiting for the next opportunity he had to GNP somebody. Oh and the justification given about the video not showing "the whole story", sorry bud, your hearsay does not make anything in the video (evidence) "ok".

Some LEF may argue that's how they're trained...I don't think that holds up here. Hard for anyone to believe this cop was justified with that level of force, given she was unarmed and at no point ever seems to be a threat to the officer...resisting arrest is one thing, being a danger to the cop and justifying the force is another. Is this going to be OK now, beating into submission anyone who puts up minimal resistance?

This is why training in grappling arts is so important, he could have saved himself a lot of trouble by with a choke or lock, and handcuffing. You know, how cops have been arresting people since we invented them.

"why would he think he could get away with that?" I thought. Then I saw the video and realized that the women in question happened to be guilty of a crime known in America as "walking while black" (WWB). Then it all made sense.

That would be me; I no can defend. I would like to see everything that led up to this, but cannot think of anything that would justify it as presented.

That makes perfect sense unless you think about it. Did someone hear the officer yelling racial slurs as he was administering this beat-down? Is this officer a documented member of some white-supremest group? Is there any factual- basis for your supposition?

A large part of that post is me being facetious. That being said, the LAPD kinda has a reputation for videos of officers beating the **** out of African Americans.

That's what gets airplay, LAPD has a reputation of just being fucked up in general.

No such thing. Stop it, It's called FTD aka Fit the description. The other term is DWB or driving while Black.

Oh and no, don't come to me with google links. That's a bunch of terrible writers trying to be witty.

Remember that time that one cop went on a rampage, and the LAPD filled a truck with bullets because it looked kind of like the crazy officer's truck, only it was a completely different color and only had two old ladies in it or something?

Remember that time when somebody with an axe to grind spewed every unrelated instance of law enforcement malfeasance?

No, I do remember that time when someone didn't notice the subtle change of context.
