    New Deer Horn Knives

Just got a great new set of Deer Horn Knives sent to me from Jason Quin at www.deerhornknives.com

Blued carbon steel with hardwood handles epoxied and riveted to the blades.

Very nice! Check out Jasons site and what he does.

That is a Baguazhang Deer Horn Knife, used in pairs. They can be smaller than this or bigger.

Where do you think the ST:TNG writers got the idea?

Klingon culture (post TOS) is based on Asian military culture, so they utilize bushido-like codes and wicked looking ceremonial weaponry.

When the episode "Reunion" called for a special Klingon blade, Curry drew on Far East influences to develop a weapon known as the bat'leth. Curry, a collector of weapons, was annoyed by fictional weaponry that was designed to "look cool" but could not be handled practically. Curry combined elements of the Himalayan kukri, Chinese axes and fighting crescents to create a two-handed, curved weapon that has since been widely used in the franchise

Mor Sao, how would you say the deer horn knives compare to a regular pair of knives as weapons? Let's say 2 ka-bars.

Totally different. These are much more deadly but if I pulled these out to defend myself, I would probably be shot by the cops.

Knives are much more easy to carry, but if you pulled 2 Kbars out on a cop, you would be shot.

The hands are much better protected with the Deer Horn Knives.

I can block and slash much better as well.

I am ready for the Zombies!

I looked at the website, is there any significance to the different styles or is it all preference? Can you point me to footage of these being used well? A demo or something.
