The "winner" took the fight on 4 hours notice, after working a 12 hour shift. The other guy knew this, and just thought in the moment that he was cutting him a break.

Not "classy" per se, but not mean spirited or vicious. In other circumstances it would be less defensible, but seems kinda no-harm-no-foul. That's how the winner is taking it. Tapper didn't cost the stand in fighter a victory somehow.

Did anyone else hear that? He said his coach is Quincy Rice! QUINCY RICE! That's TrainJudo on youtube, who made those hilarious videos where he talked **** about BJJ and pulling guard.

This suddenly got more interesting. Oh and also, I can't believe how many dumb people are out there being proud of this douchenozzle behavior. While Mike seems like a friendly enough guy himself, he acted like a complete dildo that night -- and that's probably all I'll remember him by.

That's pretty much how I see it, I don't believe he intended ill. He could have demonstrated his 'superiority' by other means though. Trouble is, lightly tapping him to avoid damage and score could be taken to be just as condescending. But as damaging to Rasers' ego as that would be, the result would have been sure. The answer to this is Mike Pantango needed a submission game. That or should have chose between damage to his opponents body or ego. He was in a fight.

It sets a bad precedent, because you know what comes next. By simply surrendering every fight before it starts, your style can "win".

"Yeah, well, I tapped out before the match started because I knew I'd royally kick his ass. My Wing Chun style is meant for street murder, not competition fighting, and I promised my sifu I wouldn't kill anyone".
This not a precedent. Happens already in the form of 'to deadly' to get in the ring in the first place.

But it was obvious he was not ready to fight with a watching audience and his coach/trainer should have pulled him from the fight before he entered the cage. They after all are there to protect their student not notch up fights for their gym.

[video] ***the url*** /video] (with the second left bracket, of course). Or, go Advanced and click the film strip icon.
