Robbie Lawler hasn't sparred in 5 years?
Found this article on Reddit. It says that Robbie Lawler hasn's sparred in 5 years and Johnny Hendricks doesn't take head shots in training. Supposedly could mean big things for the future of MMA. IF they'd bothered to explain how they do actually train. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1...is_shared=true
What are these safe but effective training methods the article alluded to but never described?

Didn't, not hasn't...
I did not spar for the longest time...
...I went through a patch where I did not spar for the longest time,...
...In that patch, I was knocking a lot of people out. I just think the further that I got away from that at the higher level, it was harder to be sharp, or as sharp as I could be. So sparring was something I needed to do when I came back to the UFC.

I'm curious what does and does not constitute "sparring"; ie, was he still rolling, but just not doing full-bore MMA-rules sparring?The fool thinks himself immortal,
If he hold back from battle;
But old age will grant him no truce,
Even if spears spare him.
