The novels flesh out the overall universe, but it's the gaming that ties it together...there would never have been all these BT and WH40K novels were it not for the legion of people playing the tabletop and video games in little nerd-packs..
You'd think that a company like GW that exists solely on the strength of it's creativity and intellectual property would've figured out how to get a halfway decent feature film made by now.

The Horus Heresy would make an amazing film franchise.

    Battletech came out in 1984.

    Mechwarrior came out in 1989.

I had to wait another 24 years for a decent MMO version..

A BattleTech movie? Maybe somebody should tell Topps how much money Pacific Rim made.

The only thing better than Mech vs Monster is Mech vs Mech.

But no, instead they keep making this YA crap. This will cause whole generations of teenagers to become the next Mountainouses. Some might even join the Booj after seeing movies like Divergent...to feed their inner ninjer.

Hey, the Raid 2 open in wide release tomorrow. At least we get to have that.

Why, so they stay away from the movie genre? Remember, international box office is subterfuge.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ultrama...r_40,000_Movie was okay and had quite an impressive cast. I also seem to remember hearing an unofficial one was made but GW refused to allow release.
