    Hell yeah! Hell no!
Surely most any sub can cause instant damage?

Anyway, I never heard that, in those words. What I've always heard is that they are "dangerous" because damage can occur without their being pain (or without their being much pain). I tend to think this is likely true as I've been in heel hooks that felt... weird, as opposed to the pain "feedback" I get from other subs. I've been told this is because there are fewer nerve endings in your knee than other body parts. Do you disagree?

When hitting a controlled sub. It goes Tight->Pain->Injury. Leg Locks are no different.

I have been told the same "nerve endings" bullshit story. Train them like any other submission. Tight, good positioning and controlled. Honestly, I think more injuries happen with leg locks from people not wanting to tap to what they feel is an "inferior submission." I can't tell you how many times I have heard "I don't tap to leg locks." Long story short....they all tap eventually.

Sounds like a poor heel hook. Lucky for you, because the way you described your reaction, a good one would of caused some damage.

You didn’t tear anything. Its ignorance and a myth that heel hook instantly injures your knee.

Than why are they considered to be so dangerous? How would I know if I fucked my knee up?

Lmao, I've never heard "I don't tap to leg locks."

I HAVE heard "I don't tap to bullshit" after a friend went to sleep to a gi choke from inside his guard.

"I don't tap to leg locks"? What the hell? Hahaha

They say that because they view it's inferior? Like they wont be caught in them?

I doubt it's that, so much as it's "Hey, if you're gonna tap me, at least do me the honor of passing my guard first."

This is a big assumption but I am going to assume if you can do those stretches nothing has been torn. I know when I stretch something that is torn it hurts like a mother fucker.
