    Hell yeah! Hell no!

When you met your first ninjer - stories

Walked into a bar today and feeling a bit bored, I overheard the word "Arm bar" as it echoed through out the empty cigar/cider bar.

(The bartender turns out to be a ninjuts trainee of 15 years)
I sat and took a seat at the bar counter and as the conversation grew louder I was able to comprehend the ninjer talk and it went like this: (bartender- BT, chubby ex wrestler - CW, Me)

BT: Yeah, I just have a problem with the body dynamics of MMA fighters. Those sweeps and throws will never work on the street.

CW: *Goes on about how all "MMA and BJJ fighters are useless once a 2x4 plank is thrown in the fight"*

Me: If the ground is so dangerous, isn't it a solid idea to learn... at the least... basic ground escapes and control?

    BT: The ground means death

Me: That's why you should have knowledge in grappli- *cuts me off*

BT: Ninjutsu is about killing, fast limb snapping, not about looking fancy. MMA is a sport and is useless in the streets.

Me: Well, MMA is the closes thing that resembles a combat situation. If it can work on a world class athlete and fighter... why not a random rough neck on the streets?

BT: I'v seen lots of Judo guys and they don't know what they're doing. They do seoi-nage all wrong, you're supposed to break their balance first.

BT: And the tap out system is pointless. Both partners should learn control and not have to tap out during training.

Me: What martial arts do you train in?

BT: Bujikan/ninjutsu for 15 years and I am a instructor

BT: Yeah, MMA fighters are too stiff and linear

Me: Where do you train? I'd like to learn and try it out

BT: We don't have a dojo yet but come to Wilson park every sunday and Wednesday at 4:30pm.

BT: We won't be hard to find, we're wearing all black

*He told me his art is better then sports, now I'm in a small town with no mma gym. so I'm guessing no one has had the chance to test his art*
    ---------------------------------------

Tl;dr - Ninjer claims all things related to MMA is futile. Is willing to let me test and try his art, ninjer is at least aged mid 20s

When have you last met a ninjer?

College. The guy wasn't a bad guy, just sadly deluded. I embarrassed him pretty bad during a demo he was doing. I'll see if I can find the longer description I've posted before, but I nearly choked him unconscious in front of several people.

Also bear in mind this was years before I did BJJ and I was just doing the old uninformed two hands on the throat choke.

The first ninjer I encountered was when I attended a two-day free demo at...wait for it...a Dux-Ryu Ninjutsu school. Yup, Dux opened a dojo in my town when I was around 15-16 although it didn't last too long.

I remember the guy that ran our lessons was named Carr...at least, I think that was his last name. I never learned his first name. The two days I was there was spent learning some basic stances, some basic karate strikes and learning to roll with a fall.

I was not impressed and never went back. I heard that Dux came by a few times but I never saw him.

Nice. You must've had some streetfighting prowess.

Is it possible that it was Michael Cairns? I am trying to find my original post relating to him and one of his / Dux students and some 'acrobatics' that he was attempting to demonstrate in one of my classes.

First ninjer I ever met was Ninja Ralph. I've mentioned him here once or twice, but he's worth doing a long post about so that'll have to wait until I have a little time.

Most recently was last month. I deal with the woman on a professional level, and outside of some over-estimation of her fighting prowess, there's no worthwhile stories.

I was walking past an alley the other day and am sure I saw a shadow out of the corner of my eye. It might have been a cat, but I'd like to think it was a ninjer...

I see so many ninjer posts but this was my first encounter with one I just had to share.

Anyways... great replies so far, guys! :-)

(I don't care if you're a woman. I'm including you when I say "guys" lol)

Dear OP, would you please, please, please go there and humiliate this guy in front of all his students and get video of it for the world to see? Everything is full of bullshit and freaking mouthboxers and it drives me insane but whenever an arrogant ninja gets his ass handed to him undeniably there is a little click in my head that makes me peaceful.
