Yes it is, Travis just dominated the division. I have never seen him that strong he was a beast!

Not sure I would have let that last newaza segment continue out of bounds. That's a looser interpretation than my understanding but if that's what the IJF level refs are allowing these days I should rethink.

Do you see a break between the throw and the transition?

Travis Stevens USA - Gold at Dusseldorf Grand Prix 2014

Not really but a lot of stuff happens in there. I'm more questioning my understanding than the call. It's a relatively new rule so I am not entirely clear. I've sent the link into our provincial head ref to get his thoughts.

Neil, I questioned it also, I thought there could be a break when Travis comes over the back to start the transition. A local "A" I talked to thought it was a good call. I am still not sold but what do I know?
I sure enjoyed the call it was bold by the referee to let it go. Could you imagine making the call at such a high level event.

I'm just a baby ref. It's hard to know how to apply the rules when they keep changing so often.

I have never seen babies do judo. Are the rules any different?

Girls don't need a t-shirt, mandatory sniff test before each fight. Other than that, much the same.
