He wasn't saying testing things was bad, just that there are other avenues of testing than the ring. Techniques used by law enforcement types work or they wouldn't do them. Regardless many of the techniques "proven" in the ring share the same structure and lineage as brandis' aikido. From that perspective they have been proven.I just find it TOTALLY AMAZINg that anyone would ever see trying to ACTUALLY test something, evaluate it, and prove its worth, as a BAD thing.
