Uniforms in the UFC
I don't know what to say to this. I didn't know their was a problem with what fighters are currently wearing.

Looks like the ufc want to get a tighter grip on sponsorship.
A brand on every single fighters clothing would be a big earner.
I don't like it. And I don't think it will sell as well.

I guess they think fighters make enough money...
Complete BS. Those dudes barely make anything, sponsorships are the only thing keeping most of them afloat. Garbage garbage garbage
PROOF that I'm not a completely useless poster:

So basically, Dana's trying to siphon away the fighters' sponsorship money by taking away their ad space, and establishing a monopoly on "official" fight shorts.
Dana, you shnaaaake.

On a serious note, I guess fighters will have to take advertising space on their backs like boxers do. Which means they'll either need to use a good paint that won't rub off while grappling, or they'll have to get tattoos.

Also, I'd like to point out that one of the neat idiosyncrasies of combat sports is that fighters get to wear their own signature trunks:
Mike Tyson wore black.
Muhammad Ali wore white with black stripes.
Joe Frazier wore those weird green scaly trunks.
Evander Holyfield wore purple.
Rich Franklin wore pink.
Cro Cop wore the Croatian flag.
Don Frye and Apollo Creed wore the American flag.
Royce Gracie wore a gi.
Dan Severn wore black saran wrap.
Ken Shamrock wore vibrantly colored speedos.
Sam Adkins wore orange camo.
Emmanuel Yarborough wore part of a circus tent.
Von Kaiser wore brown spandex long pants.
Implementing uniforms goes against a century of tradition.

They still will be able to get sponsors but yeah its going to cut into advertising space.
On the UFC-approved garments, spots would be available for a fighter's camp to go out and earn their own sponsorships, but the most visible logos would be from UFC and the chosen brand producer.

I like this dude's trunks, as well as his head:
Easter-colored. Makes sense because his name's Pinklon.

A functional monopoly wanting yet more total control?
Nobody could possibly have seen this coming.
