Something I've always found strange is that Dux claimed to be the HEAVYWEIGHT Kumite champion, implying that the tournament had weightclasses. If that's true, then what happened to the other champions from the 1975 Kumite World Tournament? After 39 years, now we finally know:
Yep, all the Kumite footage is surfacing now, not just Dux's. Even though there's no possible way to verify that this is the real deal, I'll take it at face value because the video quality is bad and it kind of looks like they're fighting. I'm really interested in the winner's style, though. It looks like he's using some kind of Granny/Frankenstein stance. Anybody know what system that's from? He seemed to have a predilection towards the Pumola bear hug. Perhaps a relative?

How can you forget his soulful performance in the arthouse coming-of-age documentary "Revenge of the Nerds"? He even owns a bar now and serves "Ogre" beer

Even if those vids of the Blair Kung Fu Project were indeed Frank Dux, its not as if they show the near-mythical martial arts skills that Dux talks about. Even with the selective editing you can tell there's lots of flailing.
Alleged Dux Kumite Video is not him.
Here's a video allegedly of Frank Dux, fighting in full contact events.
Daniel Fletcher who introduces the piece says:
"But now; many years even after the last public ridicule on fight forums such as sherdog and the UG, Frank Dux has made a SENSATIONAL RETURN with an ill-disguised account protesting his legacy. Contact was made, and in a hellacious reversal of fortunes, footage was procured and shared via Samurai Life of The Dux competing in 1970s martial arts tournaments; the video, “Frank Dux Kumite Compilation!”
Right on Samurai Life TV, here’s a video compilation of Frank Dux competing in legitimate mixfight martial arts competition, in the 1970s and 80s. . .
So it warms my happy heart that the King of the Kumite was actually a real, legitimate mixfight/martial arts competitor after all, regardless of how embellished the “Kumite” tournament and the depictions of Bloodsport and hell, even the mythical 395+-0 record may or may not be."
I, Samuel Browning don't have a twitter account and I couldn't find an email address for Mr. Fletcher on the Samuri Life website. I would like to ask him how he would establish it was Frank Dux who spread this compilation tape. It does however sound like something Frank would do, because he is a paranoid conspirator. (My critics are scheming with Steven K. Hayes! blah blah blah) see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frank_Dux
As much as I would like to, I can't take credit for what comes next. When the tape went up on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QxdpXIJ8zyE one of the commentators named danniel preto wrote:
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x10...-de-haut_sport this is Philippe Cadoret. He's a French Kung Fu fighter. The dailymotion video actually has other videas of him and the intro with his Kung Fu School's seal/logo
If you go to the daily motion link, it does turn out that the tall, slender, clean shaven Westerner in the Photo is named Phillippe Cadoret and therefore this is not a Dux compilation tape, no matter how much "Master Jay Abbot" says otherwise on the youtube thread. Jay D. Abbot claims:
"Yes this is Frank Dux kumite... Im Master Jay Abbott 28 yrs under Hanshi Dux and his system. Im a retired professional muay Thai and full contact bare knuckle karate champion. I was also ranked 4th in the world by the IKF.com. My success in fighting goes 100% to the Dux Ryu and to many of the masters instructors in the system as well. I'm one of the best fighters in the Dux Ryu system... I might be the best. My skills and fighting ability are very similar to Hanshi Frank Dux, but on steroidsds, technique and speed wise."
If you want to read more of Abbott's self aggrandizing bullshit, lots of screen captures can be found here. http://philb.ca/Jay/ Thank you PhilB!
So we have at least one Frank Dux supporter or sockpuppet "authenticating" a video for Frank, when it is not Frank.
Special credit also goes to the anonymous posters dstractt911 and ThelateScottBaio for pointing out the Fuji film advertisement in the background of the film. They raise the very valid point that Fuji is not going to be sponsoring underground tournaments. They also argue that the Fuji logo we see is one that was used in the 1980s after Frank says he stopped competing in secret Kumites but I haven't yet confirmed this second point.
I did have my translator Sunny Shen look at the Chinese Language signs in the background and when translated they say things like "Iron Ox Gung Fu" and "Johnson" (possibly a brand name) and "nutrition" (referring to some product, possibly a pill). There is Chinese language advertising going on, which further destroys the contention that this was an underground event, with or without Frankie's presence.
Frank Dux has been claiming since at least November, 1980 that he was involved in secret Kumites and this compilation simply doesn't support his claims.
Hahaha ThelateScottBaio and dstractt911 don't get the credit, Bullshido does. They are just repeating what they first read here..our analysis was complete within the first 48 hours of that video being posted.
