Yeeah, nothing up here, been looking in many forums, there is some Kyoku and Goju in Bangkok also IOGKF in Patong someone told me...found a shotokan guy but wnet MIA a few weeks back, thanks for the info though, the south is more populated with foreigners, and here most are older retired people, not into Karate :)

itt: ppl act like muay thai is the only legit striking form

I am in goju ryu along with a line of japanese jujutsu and brazillian jujitsu
But I am of course nowhere near thailand.
I have no idea why people are acting like only Muay Thai teaches you alive striking. I know in my goju dojo we certainly train alive striking. I had to survive sparring 5 blackbelts in a row at a high pace at the end of my recent blue belt grading.
I know a shito-ryu dojo who spars this way as well.

It is not just muay thai and kyokushin, in fact at kdk competitions (I don't go yet but plan to one day) there are often fighters from many different kinds of dojos

Muay thai is great too though

Pay attention to such people if you want. Otherwise, don't.

That was pretty complicated, wasn't it?
