    Hell yeah! Hell no!
Today was awesome. I got the asskicking to end all asskickings.

Have you ever sparred with someone who, within five seconds you realized outclassed you in the same way that say Yoda outclasses a stormtrooper? Well that happened to me today and it wasn't pretty. I was on the defensive the entire round, but I did manage to get in a push kick and a I got very close to getting a take down. Then I fucked up in the last minute, and within the space of about 15sec I took a thai kick to the ribs, a spinning heel kick to the ribs, and a thai kick to the gut. I didn't throw up, but I think I came pretty close.

    So what did I learn?
    1. Do not spar with that guy until you do not suck.
    2. Sometimes catching kicks is a bad idea.
    3. Keep your hands in asshole.
    4. Getting your ass kicked is the mother of learning.

I really enjoyed tonight's sparring. I plan on staying until the end every single friday night from here on out. In other news, I suspect that I am going to be really sore tomorrow morning.

I stayed for the BJJ class yesterday, and I really liked it. I'm probably going to keep going to it, because it happens immediately after the Muay Thai class so I really don't have a good reason not to pick up some grappling skills.

I'm definitely going to try to do some hands only sparring so I can get better at getting inside, and I'm going to try to seek out a taller partner the next time we do clinch drills.
150 at 5'7 is fucking heavy. you better have pythons for arms

Solid strategy. Nobody wants to spar that guy.

At one point, my sparring partner just stopped and said
"Look, if you keep your hands that far out in a fight you're gonna be fucked. As long as you keep on holding your hands out like that I am going to hit you with hooks."
It took me about a minute to stop holding my hands out like that.

Today I learned a valuable lesson: study thine opponent! That way, you realize he has arms like anacondas before you try to go in for the clinch and find your head being shoved down into his sternum whilst he lightly taps your ribs with his knees repeatedly to remind you why that was such a bad idea.

Every time I get on the mat. Boy does it feel good to when you as I like to put it semi-legitimately catch them with something.

Legitimate that they didn't let you get it, semi in that you got it while they were NOT actively trying to kill you.
