MMA fighter and former cop goes to Supreme Court
Is Bruce James Abramski Jr. a would-be cop killer and bank robber or is he a misunderstood martial artist -- who maybe cut corners to get his uncle a discount on a handgun?
When the FBI executed a search warrant at Abramskis home they found ATF paperwork showing that Abramski purchased a gun and had it transferred to his Uncle who paid for it. Since Abramski signed the part of the form stating that the weapon was for him the Feds hit him with the Federal Law hammer.
When the bank robbery charges became public, Franklin County offices were locked down in case Abramski, a martial arts cage fighter described in an FBI search warrant affidavit as having a "light switch" temper and an arsenal of firearms, reacted violently, documents filed in the county's circuit court said.
This is now going to the USSC.
The high court on Tuesday agreed to hear an appeal from Bruce James Abramski, Jr., a former police officer. Abramski bought a Glock 19 handgun in Collinsville, Va., in 2009 and transferred it to his uncle in Easton, Pa.
Federal official say Abramski had assured the Virginia dealer he was the "actual buyer" of the weapon when he already had discussed with his uncle how he would buy the Pennsylvania man a weapon with his police discount.
