Citing a pay dispute (which was used to withdraw from promotional activities over the weekend), "Sugar' Shane Mosley has boarded a plane to LA less than 48 hours ahead of the scheduled fight with Anthony Mundine in Sydney.
The news.com.au article (linked below) cites poor pre-sales and PPV numbers as an indicator of the Australian public's lack of interest in Anthony and suggests this may have contributed to the cancellation of the fight. The comments after the article certainly lend credence to the Mundine's lack of support from the public.
By contrast, the most expensive three of five ticket levels to the UFC Fight Night 33 in Brisbane have sold out seven weeks prior to the event. I can't help but think, especially after the cracker that was UFC 166, that this is also reflective of a broader shift in public taste in sports entertainment towards the premium MMA event, albeit exaserbated by Mundine's unpopularity.
Dum spiro, spero.
Tada gan iarracht.

I hav'nt really been interested in mundane for years, but i was looking forward to seeing him pick another fight with an old bloke only this time get belted.
Austin boxing has taken a big blow today.
