Watching it on a crappy VHS, expecting the champion to win via spinning jump kick or something.

I found it on YouTube shortly after I discovered late night WEC reruns on Spike.

I remember renting it from Blockbuster in college on VHS. They had UFC 1-5 I think. I watched the first one, then went back and rented all of the others. I miss those days.

6th grade thinking Aikido might be a cool thing to try. I heard about UFC and MMA though and was very intrigued. Took something like five years to get a hold of UFC 2 which was the first one I actually saw. It seemed like such a low cost thing it never even entered my mind until a couple of years later that they had done more of these events beyond UFC 5.

EDIT: read this as "where were you when this happened" kinda thing. Err. Well, I think I saw UFC 1 in 1999 or so.. So: in front of my computer.
Curiosity killed the cat. But damn it had a blast.
