Both Maia and Palhares on the same card. Yay for grappling fans! Also interesting to see if TJ Dillashaw can keep the Team Alphamale hot streak going. They are what, 19-0 since Ludwig joined the team training staff?

Maia and Shields will be a horribly boring fight.

Both guys will have too much respect for ech others ground game to try taking them down. The result will be an awkward and unenjoyable stand-up fight where neither guy has enough power to knock the other out.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to pretty much every fight on the card except for the main event.

Dunno. The way Maia grapplefucked Jon Fitch suggests he has 0 respect for the wrestling abilities of his peers. But as always with Maia fighting, I'm hoping for quick takedowns instead of the terrible stand up he has shown us over the years.

It was great starting with the prelims. Palhares is back man that heel hook was nasty and drunk uncle aka Fabio Maldonado did an interesting Anderson Silva impersonation while beating a gassed Beltran. Silva and Hamil turned into battle of the gassed giants very quickly. I really hope Hamil gives it up after this fight he should've listened to his old coach. Last thing I'll say tonight how bout them damn Koreans...

The main event was actually interesting. Not totally sure how Shields won though.... will have to give it a second watch.

Is Palhares mentally challenged in some way? It's like he's deliberately trying to make himself as unlikable as possible with his joint-cranking antics.

Can someone explain to me what Maia's fight strategy was? I honestly can't figure it out. From listening to his corner it sounded like "take it easy the first two rounds and then...continue to let Shields stay on top until he wins the decision."
