A team of British scientists claims to have found a diatom in the atmosphere that must have come from an alien life form, and could not possibly have come from the planet in whose atmosphere they found it. Their conclusions were recently published in the Journal of Cosmology.

Bad Astronomy undertakes a full debunking here: http://www.slate.com/blogs/bad_astro...unfounded.html.

The authors plan to perform further experiments on their stratosphere-derived samples, in a bid to prove their theory that tiny alien life forms are constantly arriving from space. Hopefully, more discoveries await.
lol wouldn't it have been better to do this first, before jumping to the "she must be a witch" conclusion.

That paper read as if it had been written by a 1st year secondary school science class.

Given the size and age of the universe I would say we most likely are not alone. That being said I highly doubt we are being vistited.

Yeah, if you find life in Earth's atmosphere, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that the life came from Earth.

Oh no doubt, I certainly would look to Earth first. I was just saying though more than likely their is Alien life somewhere out there. Once again I am not saying we have little grey aliens from Zeta Reticuli walking around, or in this case alien life in our atmosphere. I was just commenting on your statement that you don't believe in aliens.
I suppose in a very literal sense they really are not "aliens" if they are not visiting us though.

It really doesn't matter if we identify some microscopic organism on our planet as "alien life" or not. It's essentially a mathematical certainty that life exists elsewhere. Anyone who can't get their little pea brain around that concept is a fucking knucklehead.

There's a big difference, though, between believing that there must be other life somewhere and believing that there is alien life here on Earth.
