    I don't disagree with your analysis of the media. What I was saying was that I think, in this particular case, that "military-style uniform" was meant to communicate, in as few words as possible, that witnesses were talking about someone who appeared to be in uniform but that the reporters could not say with certainty whether it was an actual uniform or just something that was intended to look like one. In this case, "military-style uniform" was not intended to be misleading or sensationalistic.
