So you are self employed...what is your trade, and BTW, I'm glad to hear you actually did more than lie around on the dole after not making the military. good on you!

If you will take the time to read some books or watch some documentaries on WW2, you might have your eyes opened. Same with Vietnam etc.

It will take a while and you will want to watch and read different stuff to kind of cross-index and make up your own mind.

Having a job is by no means a valid excuse to be ignorant.

Just say you you've never found it interesting and so getting more info/education on X was completely out of thought, but don't BS.

Besides, most people are still complete ignorants after Uni/College, because they tend to specialize and give **** all to topics outside of their studies.

Yeah the 1,247 warheads isn't correct most of their ICBMs are set up for single warhead configuration. Some of them can be configured with up to 8 warheads but as they sit right now on the ground they have a single warhead each.

I was unaware that the US (or anybody else) has demonstrated the ability to "knock 30 ICBM's out of the sky" at once, ever. In fact, your number of interceptors is extremely limited:

"In March 2013, the Obama administration announced plans to add 14 more interceptors in addition to the current 26 at Fort Greely in response to North Korean threats"

and intercepts of missiles *under controlled conditions* frankly sucks:

"As of July 2013, 8 of the 17 (47%) hit-to-kill intercept tests have succeeded."

Maybe if you didn't rely on Wiki for everything you might have a clue. GBMD isn't the only trick up our sleeve.

Nice try, The 300 German Rocket Scientist they had is what made their rocket program work at all in the beginning. We can look at what happened after they let them go. The Topol is a perfect example it took them 20 years of unsuccessful deployments before they finally got it right. The new one the Topple M and Yars are nothing special in fact mostly just unproven claims. Typical of Russia. Oh no we can't possibly shoot down a missile that changes course.

You notice how Russia is desperately trying to design missiles to get around our interception capabilities? Yeah? Maybe that should be a clue that they take them seriously enough that there is something to them.

No instead we have focused on Air Superiority and Cruise missiles. We are far more focused on being able to decimate anyone in a conventional war.

    But, enough about the Russkies.

No one claimed the US had better or more missiles. See your the one caught up on it. I said we had sufficient defense. Hell our conventional forces can render their nuclear options worthless.
See because we though of this when thinking about 1st strike

I can see you're not a gamer since you don't understand the big boss concept. Did you ever play Mike Tyson's Punch Out back in the day? Well, I'm Tyson. You don't just get to fight me right off the bat. You've got to knock out Bald Bull and that Muslim with the flashing turban first.

Learn life. Its levels to this **** young boy.

[it is fake] "that makes you EXACTLY the same as Devil."

And what did I ever do to you? ;)

[bcs] "The Russian Strategic Rocket Forces have 369 ICBMs able to deliver 1,247 nuclear warheads"
[goodlun] "Yeah the 1,247 warheads isn't correct most of their ICBMs are set up for single warhead configuration."

Those are treaty limitations iirc. Not limitations of ability.

[bcs] "I was unaware that the US (or anybody else) has demonstrated the ability to "knock 30 ICBM's out of the sky" at once, ever."
[goodlun] "Maybe if you didn't rely on Wiki for everything you might have a clue. GBMD isn't the only trick up our sleeve."

I'm aware of these ancillary systems. Please don't deceive yourself into believing anybody - even the US - can defend itself against a mass ICBM attack and score a 100% intercept rate. Not going to happen. Not currently, anyway.

[goodlun] "You notice how Russia is desperately trying to design missiles to get around our interception capabilities?"

That conclusion does not follow your premise. US Minuteman missiles can incorporate stealth features on the warheads - but that development doesn't necessarily mean that it is a response to Russian ability to defeat a US first strike via ABM's. It's merely natural development of a weapons system to be more efficient.

[goodlun] "No instead we have focused on Air Superiority and Cruise missiles. We are far more focused on being able to decimate anyone in a conventional war."

Actually, I agree with you here. It shows that Russia is essentially on the defensive, and is trying to "box clever". It takes less investment of resources to come up with refinements of existing systems (such as their ICBM's) than to design new stealth aircraft and what have you from the ground up. In other words, they don't forsee ever getting into a conventional war with the US, but want to keep the "big stick" of the nuclear deterrent handy just in case that option ever tempted America.

[goodlun] "No one claimed the US had better or more missiles."

    Fair enough.

[goodlun] "Interesting turn of events with Syria tentativly agreeing to hand over their chemical weapons to Russia."

That is interesting. It adds fuel to the fire of the claim that the gassing was a false flag op by the rebels. Because: why would the Syrian govt use chems NOW, when it is winning, rather than earlier on, when they were losing hands down? Nevertheless, *verifying* any hand-over is the real problem. Nice in concept, but hard to execute.

Putin wrote an interesting open letter to America here:

BCS, please learn to use the quote features - it will make your drivel a lot easier to parse.

    Quick intro:
"reply with quote" at the bottom of somebody's post will auto-quote them for you.

If you want to reply to multiple, click the little "+ button next to reply with quote for each person you want to include, then click the "reply with quote" on one of them.

If you copy/paste from another website, just wrap the text like so:
    {quote}something copied{/quote}

simply replace the curly braces with square braces (same keys minus the shift on US keyboards)
