Heinlein was progressive as ****, he just wasn't "everyone's a unique snowflake so let's all accept them as such" progressive. He wrote a book that helped kickstart the sexual revolution for ****'s sake (Stranger in a Strange Land).

As I dont know his works, I can hardly argue. I liked the Starship Troopers Movie but I think it was more of an satire of Heinleins books. Maybe I should try one of his book to fill my lack of education in this regard.

Whatever. Your Desktop is quite nice.

So, part of being a "progressive" to you is being so close minded you won't even TRY to read something, because you think the author isn't "progressive", or someone told you, or you read it on the Interwebs?

    That's fucking brilliant.

    **Edit***

Me being rather conservative, but open minded, I have read a lot of Noam Chomsky. You, being progressive, might recognize the name...

It was hard, but the guy is brilliant, and I DID have my eyes/mind opened to some very interesting stuff. As an example, "wage slave"...

No, it was an incredibly badly done movie version of the book.

You'd need to read several of his books, because he evolved over time. His early "juvenile" books (like Starship Troopers) were just that.

Try Stranger in a Strange Land, or Time Enough for Love.

    Noted.

You are fast to assume someone is being closed minded. That was more of an mildly trolling "give me reasons to read something".
Oh and I wasnt talking about "progressive" in the US politics sense.

But to not blow up the thread, not mine but nice:

P.S. Heinlein was a sexually confused fascist, worth reading anyway if you can get past his recurrent obsessions.
