    Hell yeah! Hell no!

What could be done about this?

Maybe a counter poll would be good here?

Speaking logic and reason to groups like this is pointless so the only thing you can do is educate. Am I right?

You are right. If we want to counter the jerks who to get rid or MMA, we have to educate laypeople on why MMA is not bad. The jerks can only get traction for their efforts if they have numbers.

Numbers give them power. We must rob them of the numbers and take away their power.

Why is it always the people who have never actually read a study in their life that seem to think it magically endorses their ignorance

Extensive research has associated exposure to media violence with a variety of physical and mental health problems for children and adolescents, including aggressive and violent behavior, bullying, de-sensitization to violence, fear, and depression.

Studies have found that repeatedly exposing children to violent media is a risk factor for increases in aggression later in life, even into adulthood.
Notwithstanding that by "media" most studies focused on video games and movies depicting violence rather than televised sports:
Savage has had an uphill battle persuading her peers on the issue. While fellow researchers have claimed thousands of studies support the violent media-violent crime connection, Savage says that far fewer studies had been done than claimed, and most had serious methodological flaws. The researcher also points out that despite an explosive growth in exposure to media violence since the mid 1990s, the U.S. has seen record decreases in violent crime.

The bottom line is that for violent movies and video games, we just do not know the relationship between viewing or playing and aggression in the real world. Research to date does not inform us.

Much debate remains regarding the impact of media violence on aggressive
and violent behavior. At present, the evidence for short-term increases in
minor aggression remains inconclusive and a subject of continued debate.
However, at present, the weight of evidence does not support a link between
media violence and acts of serious aggression or violent crime. Persistent
focus on this debate may potentially risk loss of attention to more pressing
social causes of crime including poverty, family violence, social inequality,
    and the drug trade.

You can change the text of the letter at the end.... so someone write a counter letter that is for the pro-ufc side, replace what they have and then everyone can use their own form against them.

I wouldn't usually associate Dana White with the phrase "Charm offensive".

    Perhaps I've misjudged the man.

Main evil of UFC: inspiration for small plastic action figures. They're unstoppable. We're doomed.
