I have a bit of experience with these as well...used the ax/hatchet while staking mining claims. They take a sharp edge and balance nicely. Add a spike on the end (ala' the ancient poleaxe...) and good to go.

I see cold steel makes one, but it's missing the spike.

tough to beat the original. I've been reading some history lately, seems the infamous English longbowmen used these as needed, because not a lot of training (if any) was needed.

I do, however, have one of their framing hammer and wouldn't mind knocking some heads with that.
I have one of these too. I agree about the balance and the grip on it being no good for braining zombies.

I have a SOG tomahawk that I like. The first time I threw it, it went straight through a fence picket and kept on going.

Forgive me, fellow nerds, but it's been decades since I've seen inside the rulebook: what does he have to throw to turn the undead?

A good old machete is what you need to cut foliage and zombie heads alike

Easy to carry and use! Who knows what obstacles you are going to need to tear down with a machete

60 cm of hard cold steel is what those fucking zombies need to taste

Hand and a half sword, only 1lbs heavier than a katana, but a lot more robust and just as sharp.

Here's the add for the cold steel one:

There's a docu about a German weaponsmid, who tests one of his katana against one of his half swords.
Can't find it now, but I'll have a look at it later.
