This seems like it'd work even better if you told them "try to hit me in the face AS HARD AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN" so they limit themselves to big haymakers instead of jabs.

Very nice, my kickboxing coach once did something similar with me.

My head movement sucked even at the peak of my striking training. I hated the drills, and I hated the assistant coaches who made me do it constantly. It was almost like I had a broom handle up my ass, like a really shitty Remy Bonjasky.

Stuff like this always looks super human to me.

I'd like to see someone try to duplicate this demonstration with Taekwondo blocks:

No way- the blocks would break all of the puncher's unconditioned forearms!

A friend of mine showed me that video a couple weeks ago. I think it is an awesome video, especially to anyone who has done those drills before. It is even difficult against a training parter who you are used to. But to do it against someone who you have never sparred against is ballsy. To do it effectively is awesome!

No, but it makes for a more interesting and amusing demonstration and shows the monumental advantage his training gave him. It gives us a different perspective than if he did it against an equally skilled opponent (Which, incidentally, is one reason why training noobs every now and again is beneficial to see how far you've progressed).

Plus, it provides a good argument to use against stupid people who think entering Streetrealm means automatic death for sport fighters.
