You have to give props to Lemieux, he took some hard shots , like you said Eddie. It was a decent stoppage though because David was thoroughly outclassed despite his willingness.
I was hoping to see GGG get rocked just once to see how he would react to it, but he is a very smart fighter and knows how to strategize.
Lemieux's trainers should have done a better job preparing him , he had no answer for Golovkin's jab; a little head movement/bob and weave goes a long way..
    A decent unification fight.

Well, Lemeiux rocked him when he landed a good hard punch to the Face - this in the Round following the knockdown - so GGG took note of that and when back to boxing. A wise move cos if nothing else, it warned Golovkin that Lemeiux could still bang so he had to be treated with Respect; so GGG reverted and boxed his way to the stoppage. Good match-up and pleased that they faced each other.

So after the joke of a fight between Chavez Jr. And Canelo. We can get down to the real business - and that is Canelo V Golovkin.
It is now set....unless Canelo creates another excuse to drop out or stall the fight.
I have no doubt that GGG will win. Maybe then he will get the credit he deserves.

How much credit does he deserve, though?

Canelo faced no threat in Chavez Jnr, which was something of a surprise. Was it dropping in weight and losing strength? Was he doing it to impress JCC Snr (the Legend). Dunno really.

GGG looked a touch lucky in his last against Danny Jacobs. May be this gave Canelo confidence in facing Gennady. May be he's starting to slip. May be not. He might have taken Jacobs too lightly or perhaps he just pressed the fight because he was unwilling to make the Counter-puncher come forward and open himself up.

Anyway, GGG v Canelo is a mouthwatering prospect soooo it's all good.

Well..now that the Mayweather V Mcgregor sideshow is over we can get set for the real Boxing match 2morrow night.
    Golovkin V Alvarez.
Boxing fans have been waiting a while for this one. This will be a good, competitive match and fun to watch. I am predicting a late-round TKO by Golovkin.

Rematch ....big surprise Alvarez fought defensively but it wasn't the slam bang most thought it would be.
A competitive fight but likely disappointing for most.
