    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Do you know about Kudo?

So I've happened to see a few videos about this relatively new art that is supposed to miz kickboxing, kyokushin, judo, wrestling and more.

From what I've seen it looks legit, but what do you guys think about it? Did you hear about it before?

Haven't heard of it being called "Kudo" before, but obviously it has been called that for a few yrs. Had only heard to it referred to as Daido Juku before, but yeah, have always enjoyed the videos of it.

As for it being legit?? Seems to be at first glance, and if his credentials checked out then theres no issues there, and even if you don't check them out,the ruleset looks lose enough to give ample opportunity to weed out ineffective/b.s techniques eventually but he seems to be qualified to teach/build the various elements of his sport.

It's a well known style in Japan, UK, eastern Europe & parts of south America, they recently started having branches in the US mainly Detroit.

It was founded by Azuma Takashi an all Japan champion & world contender in Kyokushin it went through some stages during it's evolution until it reached what it is today.

This would make for a much watched Olympic sport.

My home dojo, from which I'm on hiatus, has started a 'combat judo' program which incorporates judo and boxing. I hope this kudo gets more exposure here in the US. Sadly, here in Oklahoma, we have no Sombo, another well rounded martial sport.

I don't know, doesn't it look a little too full-contact for the Olympics?
Judo with boxing incorporated sounds great!

There are threads here about it. Looks like great training but the last time I checked it hasn't really made it to the States yet. Seems like they were discussing opening a school in NY, but it was probably two years ago when I was reading up on it.
