It will happen. This movie will help it along.

You may all continue your discussion.
Maybe the director and producers caught on the "Sucker Punch" wave and had the genius idea to explore the female nihon-philiac masses by casting Reeves to play a leading role in a Medieval Japan phantasy background -- while also pleasing the Samurai/Chosen One/Ted Logan-admiring male audience.

Apparently, I have insufficient account privileges to post in my own thread about how The Wolverine has done us all a grave disservice by not killing off more ninja on-screen.

If Keanu kills more ninja in 47 Ronin than Wolverine, I will be a very sad monkey indeed.

Wolverine is "supernatural" by evolution/mutation...but his foes are still natural. Mutant ninja are still just ninja.

Tom Cruise also killed way more ninja AND samurai, AND then Japanese rifleman. But no supernatural ninja.

It looks like Keanu might kill a demon or two in this movie, which definitely have higher hp and AC than (non-demon) ninja and would put him squarely in Jubei Kibagami territory in terms of his ninja-killing abilities.

If it makes anyone feel better just picture Keanu's dad as the protagonist instead.

Just saw Wolverine, very entertaining. 47 Ronin trailer was part of it, not sure why they felt the need to call it that. Is the general public really so aware of that story that it will help sell another CGI-fest?

Also saw a trailer for The Grandmaster, supposedly the true story of Yip Man, complete with mega wire-work.

Is this true? Only one way to find out. I must, in the interests of film history, subject myself to the ninja scene from The Last Samurai one more time.

Well, I count six ninja dead at the hands of the Scientologist. He was off to a slow start, but he picked up toward the end. That would be four more ninja than Wolverine killed in the latest movie.
(I'm sure you eagle-eyed viewers noticed that at least one ninja was equipped with Wolverine-style hand claws...) Is there any way Wolverine can reclaim his seat at the Cool Kid Table after that?

I'd like to see Tommy-boy do that and simultaneously pull off those shorts and shoes.

You'll have to wait and compare the directors cut. Remember, this was supposed to be R. They pushed that since the sequel was announced. Then they blinked.

Oh and you two stupid nerds really need to STFU.

He survived a Nuclear Blast, **** your Wannabe Ninja Killing White guys.
